All the EngD students assembled for the first time to hear group project pitches. The students all came from varied backgrounds and the projects reflected the diversity. From scanning concrete to augmented reality, the projects were very interesting.
One that piqued my interest was the 3D fog projector proposed by Professor Anthony Steed. It was outside my comfort zone as it was something I had no idea how to do. After the meeting, three other students expressed an interest too. Our group was therefore created!
Our first meeting at the pub showed what varied backgrounds we came from: an architecture, an electronics engineer, a computer scientist and a geographer!
